Thanks Derek.!! That experience, along with the general decline of the downtown experience, has made us conclude that any future 'experiences' in downtown Vegas will probably be the result of daytrips instead of extended overnight trips. However, that was dependent on us having our bags packed and vacating the current room within an hour of the relocation approval. Long story short, we got a new room on the 'quiet side' the next day. Great.!!! Little did we know that about 5 hours later, after having been awake for 36 hours, we'd return to our room ready for our first night's sleep, that it would be accompanied by the bands on Fremont Street right outside our window. 20 minutes later we got a text, 'Your room is ready'. We checked our bags into Concierge and ordered a drink at Long Bar.
Really.? This was a reservation made through Qantas reward points. After 31 clock hours of travel, we finally arrived at The D at about 4.30pm Vegas time. My wife and I were SO looking forward to staying at our favourite hotel in downtown, The D.
